That information looks like it may have been pretty close to the truth, if details revealed today prove to be correct.

Forbes contributor Jay McGregor claims “a source close to Google” told him that both the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will be announced by the company tomorrow. The source allegedly said Google had planned to host a launch event for the two devices, but binned those plans because it is still “tweaking Android L”, suggesting that the new OS isn’t quite ready for release.

The announcement is expected to be made in the form of a blog post, with the Nexus 9 said to be available for pre-order on October 17, with availability from November 3. The tablet is said to be priced at $399 for the 16GB model, while a 32GB version with 4G LTE connectivity will reportedly cost $499.

According to the report, specs of the Nexus 9 will include:

8.9-inch display with 2048x1440px resolution

64-bit dual-core CPU

NVIDIA Kepler GPU

8MP rear-facing camera

3MP front-facing camera

Brushed aluminum frame

Of course, this information could be wide of the mark – but we may not have long to wait until we find out.

via Nexus 6 image leaks, said to be launching tomorrow alongside $399 Nexus 9 –
