{"id":2500,"date":"2013-06-04T18:50:19","date_gmt":"2013-06-04T22:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.nccomputertech.com\/?p=2500"},"modified":"2013-06-04T18:50:19","modified_gmt":"2013-06-04T22:50:19","slug":"apples-iradio-streaming-service-might-offer-free-ad-supported-option","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nccomputertech.com\/techtalk\/2013\/06\/04\/apples-iradio-streaming-service-might-offer-free-ad-supported-option\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple&#039;s iRadio streaming service might offer free, ad-supported option"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.techspot.com\/news\/52781-apples-iradio-streaming-service-might-offer-free-ad-supported-option.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/nccomputertech.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/06\/2013-03-07-teaser981.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve heard plenty of reports and rumors about Apple launching its own music streaming service with the goal of competing in the same space as Pandora and Google&#8217;s newly launched &#8216;Play Music All Access&#8217;.<br \/>\nA report from Bloomberg now suggests that the iAd team (advertising sales) is shifting its focus to support the streaming service as Apple prepares to offer a free ad-supported option, having users listen to music with ads, similar to what Spotify or Pandora are doing today.<br \/>\niTunes is already one of the biggest online music stores, but this would be a new space for Apple, as it has seen most of its success selling digital and physical products, not advertising.<br \/>\nThere is a certain amount of risk involved, both for would be advertisers and record labels considering that at launch the streaming service will still be in its infancy and it&#8217;s going to be hard to predict how quickly users adopt it and ultimately how many users the ads will reach.
